Built on the floor, not in a boardroom
NurseRoots started with a stack of crumpled brain sheets and one stubborn idea: the day-to-day of nursing shouldn’t be this disorganized.
Why we’re here
NurseRoots is made by a working registered nurse — someone who still picks up shifts, still takes report at 0700, and still remembers exactly how it felt to be the new grad who couldn’t find a report sheet that fit the floor. That’s the whole origin story. The tools here aren’t theoretical. They come from real shifts and real “there has to be a better way” moments.
The name says it: roots. The first year or two of nursing is where everything takes hold — your habits, your confidence, your systems. Get organized early and the rest of your career grows from steadier ground. We want to help nurses build those roots.
What we make
Practical, free resources that make a shift run smoother:
- Report sheets and brain sheets for different specialties
- SBAR guides and a handoff template for cleaner report
- NCLEX prep and dosage-calc practice for students
- New-nurse survival guides for the first-year fog
- Canadian nurse resources, because most sites forget we exist
- And yes — makeup and skincare for nurses, for looking human at hour twelve
How we keep the lights on
The resources are free. To keep them that way, NurseRoots may earn a small commission from affiliate links or show ads on some pages — never at any extra cost to you, and never in a way that gets between you and the thing you came for. If we ever recommend a product, it’s because we’d actually use it.
One important note
Everything on NurseRoots is educational. It’s here to help you learn, organize, and study — it isn’t medical advice, and it doesn’t replace your facility’s policies or your own clinical judgment. You can read the full disclaimer here.
